Once upon a time there were ancient trees growing in a forest. The trees have survived hundreds of years. People lived in that forest, and they respected the trees and never hurt them.
But one day a new inhabitant appeared in the forest. They needed wood and were looking to cut down ancient trees for their use. They wanted to develop the forest and enrich their lives.
The ancient trees found themselves cut down. But they could not resist. So they called out to the new residents. “We are ancient trees that have lived for hundreds of years. We exist for all the creatures that live in this forest. We will destroy it. Please respect us and protect the forest.”
The new inhabitants heard the ancient trees talking and understood their significance. They stopped cutting down the ancient trees and instead sourced the wood from elsewhere.
As a result, the forest was preserved and the ancient trees were able to continue to live. People have learned that protecting forest ecosystems is also about protecting themselves. And the ancient trees grew strong again in the forest, showing off their beauty.
